Week 16

Baby E and mommy survived week 16, but only due to lots of salads and sweets!

I am no longer able to fit into most of my pants. If it isn't low rise, I can't button it! Most of my t-shirts can't fit either...so long to being a small. I do like Stevie's t-shirts. I have a feeling I am going to slowly take over his clothes. I did get some maternity clothes and those pants are AWESOME! I have made the belly band work a few days, but its not my favorite...weird feeling leaving your pants unzipped all day.

Week 16 brought more energy and more cravings...like sweets. I still don't like eating meat, but I can eat chicken if I have to...no red meat though...gross .

Running is getting harder :( and that makes me sad. I have to alternate running and walking on the treadmill. But since my classroom is on the 2nd floor (and I go up and down them a millions times a day) I am still getting some cardio!

15 weeks

There is a baby in there!!!!!!So weird...but very exciting! Finally, starting to get my normal appetite back, except I have days where my stomach is growling non-stop. Slowly having more energy, but I still love a good nap...and go to bed early :)

I was really excited to hear a good old friend of mine is expecting not to far after baby e is due! It will be nice to have someone that is going through the same things as me. Not that my husband hasn't been there for every break-down, running to the store to get me whatever I want, and listening to me freak out about every new thing my body does, but it is always nice to have a gal pal to relate to :) He really is really being great through all this, and he will be an amazing daddy.

We have decided on a girl and boy name for baby e....now, we are just waiting to see what we are having. I had a dream the other night that I was holding a baby girl with very dark hair, and she had a pink bow in her hair. However, last night I had a very real dream about our baby boy. He had Stevie's ears, a dimple in his chin, 5 fingers and toes, very black hair, and when I said his name he smiled. So who knows...but the baby boy dream was so REAL, and I woke Stevie up at 3:30 to tell him about it!

We went looking at a bunch of baby stores this weekend, and we are super excited. Then Stevie read me some of his expecting dad's book, and now I am scared again about delivery :(  Does it have to be so gross?

Baby E's room got painted this week, and the best part was our painter would not let us pay him anything because it was his gift to our baby! Now, if Pottery Barn would do the same for the crib I picked out :)

Summary of week 15:  belly bump now showing, random headaches, more energy, morning sickness is gone, skin looking a little better, legs and feet more sore after working all day, great dreams about baby e......weird dreams about everything else!

Looking forward to Baby Vaughn's baby shower and hanging out with 3 other pregnant friends!

As for the kitties.....they love to nap with me, and don't like to let Stevie nap with us. Uno continues to stay by my side...he knows something us up!

14 weeks!

Baby E was 14 weeks old last week and was the size of a lemon.

How far along? 14weeks

Total weight gain/loss:  6lbs total.... I have a booty :)


Maternity clothes? No,  but some of my pants don't fit....having to wear the "Fat day" pants and they fit normal :) 

Sleep: I don't sleep well at night, but I am getting more energy.

Best moment this week:  Hearing the baby's heartbeat at our doc. appointment and finding out that  all is well! Stevie and I have decided on names we like....not telling you!!!!

Miss Anything? beer at sporting events... we went to the preds game in  Nashville Saturday night, and I would of loved to have an overpriced stale beer!

Enjoyments: Being the sober driver and getting to use the "expecting mothers" parking spot

Movement: Not yet...I think its going to weird me out when I feel something down there!

Food cravings: Chinese Food and Sweet Tea with lemon!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Red meat

Have you started to show yet: Yes!

Gender prediction: I am feeling BLUE....in a good way!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy....except when I am hungry, then you better watch out!

Looking forward to: Feb. 15 when we get to see our baby and find out if baby e is a he or she!

As for Holmes....

End of the 1st trimester!!!

Baby E is 13 weeks old and the size of a peach! (yummy, peaches )

How far along? 13 weeks and yes, I am a VERY excited new mommy to be...I don't see ANYTHING wrong with that :)

Total weight gain/loss: ha, about 5lbs....someone has been eating good :)


Maternity clothes? Not yet, but my shirts are getting shorter and my pants are tighter.

Sleep: I sleep great at during my daily naps, but at night...not so much. Weird dreams and I toss and turn alot.

Best moment this week: Picking out the paint for the baby's room! Nothing special, its the same gray as seen in the chalkboard pictures. It will look good with blues and greens or hot pink!

Have you told family and friends: Yes! And on that note, while I appreciate all the helpful hints and tips, I am really sick of the people who know it all because they have had a baby. Well, there are 7 billion people in this world, and I am pretty sure they are not the only one who has had a baby.

But.....I love how my friends are so excited and supportive!

Miss Anything?our annual NYE party, holiday cocktails, having energy, clear skin, going to the grocery store and not buying everything in sight, and morning coffee

Enjoyments: being the sober one at the party and hearing and REMEMBERING all the juicy gossip, getting to redecorate a room in our house, naps

Movement: Not yet, just a rock-hard belly and I am not talking about abs!

Food cravings: chicken salad and fruit (especially pineapple)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Red meat and Mexican food

Have you started to show yet: I can tell! However, alot is all going to my ass, which is good because I have never had a butt! Maybe it will stick around after the baby is born?!?

Gender prediction: Back to believing its a boy!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody, school starts back next week :(

Looking forward to: My 14th week appointment and hearing the heartbeat again.

As for Holmes......

Another update...Mr. Uno does not leave my side. I really think he knows I am pregnant :)

12 weeks and Christmas

Baby E is 12 weeks old and the size of a plum!

How far along? 12 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: According to scale at the gym....1 pound ;) But with Christmas break here I am sure that will change!


Maternity clothes? Not yet, but I did wear a belly band the other day. Why did I not know about this amazing thing before now?! Stevie thinks everyone should own on of these!


Sleep: Now that my husband bought me a body pillow, I sleep like a baby. I call it my boyfriend! Again, another thing pregnant women have been keeping a secret!

Best moment this week: It would have to be a toss up between the belly band and the "boyfriend" pillow! J/k..... I kid, I kid! The best was when Stevie bought (and READ) a book about becoming a daddy...Yes, that is the hormones talking :)

Oh AND.....when I told the waiter at O'Charley's I was pregnant (he kept trying to get me to order a drink because it was happy hour), I got soup and salad for FREE!!!

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? A real workout, cocktails, eating without feeling sick, feeling normal when I wake up, carrying a small purse (now I have a huge one full of snacks and water), my abs, sleeping all night without getting up to pee 3 times, clear skin, not freaking out at every weird feeling I get in my belly, and turning the channel when the credits roll instead of looking at the names to see if any sound good enough for baby e

Enjoyments: feeling no guilt when I eat alot or sleep 12 hours and all day, and not having to change kitty box, filling out my shirts (bigger boobs), and prenatal vitamins making my hair grow!!!

Movement: Not yet, just my belly and "ladies" getting bigger

Food cravings: strawberry ice cream, broccoli, strawberry milk, chicken salad

Anything making you queasy or sick: Red meat

Have you started to show yet: Yes, little bump aka my "fupa" (inside joke)


Gender prediction: I go back and forth.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy... I am on WINTER BREAK

Looking forward to: Being at my parents' house on Christmas day watching awful movies with my dad that he thinks are awesome :) And for my friends (Nat, Alanna, and Kylie) to be in town.

As for Holmes.....

11 weeks!

Baby E is 11 weeks old and the size of a lime! 200 more days (at least) until this mommy can have a margarita or a bud light lime :( However, I have been putting lime in my water!


How far along? 11 weeks


Total weight gain/loss: The scale at the doctor's office said I haven't gained anything....I beg to differ though, but I won't argue with the scale :0 But come on, you see the belly!!!!



Maternity clothes? Not yet, but I think I might need to start the rubber band trick soon!


Sleep: I wake up alot....not sure if it is due to Stevie's snoring or the fact I get uncomfortable. My money is on my hubby's snoring. (Sorry for kicking you honey, but your baby needs to sleep)


Best moment this week: Hearing our baby’s heartbeat! I thought this would be an emotional time for Stevie and I, but I couldn't help but think it sounded like one of those ghost hunting shows where they use the Doppler to hear ghost.....our baby sounds like a ghost, "Whooooosh, Whoooosh, Whooosh!"

I also ate a pint of ice cream in one sitting and I felt no guilt whatsoever. Not sure if I did this because I was pregnant or not…..I am going with the pregnancy excuse J

Miss Anything? Beer. We went bowling and bowling isn't as much fun when you can't drink the stale bowling alley beer. And beer while watching football...Bears suck even more when you are sober and loosing!


Movement: Not yet, but weird "things" going on in my belly....things are shifting!


Food cravings: mashed potatoes, corn, apple juice, strawberry ice cream



Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat


Have you started to show yet: Sorta, the bump comes and goes, but I feel like I am pushing out my stomach at all times, but I am not....it just sticks out. I think the picture speaks for itself!

Wedding rings on or off? On (until my crazy hormones come out and I get aggravated at Stevie for no reason)


Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy ( I am about to be on Winter break for 2 weeks!!!!)


Looking forward to: No work for 2 weeks! Sleeping in, napping, and napping some more!!!!
No judging, I am growing a baby inside me people!


As for Holmes.....

When he isn't napping with me, he likes to take the tree-skirt off the Christmas tree.

Week 10

How far along? 10 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: not sure...its goes up and down (sorta like my food), I would guess I have put on 5lbs since the beginning.
Maternity clothes? Not yet, thank God leggings are in style!
Sleep:  I get pretty tired, but sleep great at night except for the weird dreams
Best moment this week:  more and more signs of pregnancy  (face/neck/back freaking out, being tired, nauseous even more) which tells me our little baby e is growing and developing....so bring on the signs!!!!!!!!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Beer and Coffee (full of caffeine with Splenda) I can drink decaff with sugar, but its not the same :(
I also miss running and ab workouts! I can "jog", but it doesn't give me the "high" a good run could do. I am too scared to do ANY ab exercises, even though my doc said I could until the 2nd trimester.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: bread, cereal, and apple juice

Have you started to show yet: A little rounding of the belly. You can't tell with clothes on, but when I showed Stevie my belly he said, "Stop pushing out!"  I had to prove to him I wasn't!

Looking forward to: Hearing the heartbeat on Friday at our 10 week appointment......NOT looking forward to the blood work :(

He continues to love taking naps with me!!! (he apparently fell asleep in this picture )
